Summary:

This week on The UpLevel Podcast, join us for a deeply human conversation as we sit down with Sonia Kreitzer, singer, songwriter, sound healer, and the creative force behind Doe Paoro. With over 40 million global streams, tours with artists like the Gypsy Kings and KT Tunstall, and music featured across film, TV, and international radio, Sonia brings artistry and profound devotion to healing, earth connection, and the reclamation of the human voice.

Sonia’s work is rooted in decades of study with indigenous music and medicine carriers from the Shipibo-Conibo of Peru to the Noke Koi of Brazil to her training in Tibetan opera. She teaches that music is a technology of harmony and that sound is one of our most powerful tools for repair, reconnection, and awakening consciousness.

This episode offers an intimate look at how our voices, individually and collectively, can support us through a time of collapse, leadership transition, cultural change, and spiritual reorientation.

  • Why Sonia teaches that your truest voice begins in the body, not the mind

  • How empowered environments transform teams, communities, and the stories we tell about ourselves

  • Exploring the grief, gratitude, and potency of remembering where we come from

  • A journey into sensing, feeling, and expressing from the truth beneath imitation

  • Creating spaces where every voice is honored and where leadership becomes a shared practice

  • How understanding ancestry dissolves generational silence and awakens authentic expression

  • Simple practices, like humming and singing, that ground the body, open the heart, and reawaken vitality

  • Cultivating Authentic Voice

    • Listen to Your Body: Begin your relationship with your voice by tuning into bodily sensations. Honor what feels authentic rather than imitating others.

    • Express Deep Truths: Use your voice as a conduit for life force energy; allow trembling or vulnerability in expression as signs of accessing deep truths.

  • Leadership and Organizational Dynamics

    • Foster Open Environments: Encourage leaders to create spaces where power dynamics are acknowledged, allowing all voices to be heard without self-censorship.

    • Decentralize Leadership Structures: Move towards collaborative leadership models that emphasize shared music and presence over hierarchical performance.

  • Ancestry and Trauma Awareness

    • Reflect on Lineage: Understand how ancestral history can influence current expressions; use this awareness to honor those who were silenced before us.

  • Practices for Grounding and Healing

    • Engage in Humming or Singing: Practice humming to stimulate the vagus nerve for relaxation. Group singing helps harmonize collective energies.

  • Navigating Societal Collapse

    • Acknowledge Grief Stages: Recognize collapse in various systems (environmental, social) and move through grief stages, acknowledgment is key before action.

  • Community Building Through Rituals

    • Celebrate Amidst Endings: Incorporate rituals that find meaning even during transitions—engage community elders for guidance through these processes.

  • Artistic Expression

    • Create Independently When Possible: Prioritize artistic integrity over commercial deadlines; release work when it best serves the present context.
